HP says "Yezzir"

After the success of the Shaun White and Jay-Z commercials that are apart of "The Computer Is Personal Again" campaign, Hewlett-Packard has given Pharrell Williams the greenlight. The HNIC, Head N*E*R*D In Charge, addition to the campaign continues his chain of high-profile endorsement offerings. He's recently also been tapped to appear in Louis Vuitton's new fall 2006 and winter 2007 ad campaigns. Same as all the previous commercials that are apart of this campaign, Pharrell explains how he makes use of his personal computer. Check out the video HERE. Also check for Pharrell's debut solo album, In My Mind, which is out in stores today.

Mr. Me Too

This Thursday, July 27th @ Club Avalon IVL Parties, Laced Magazine, Hot 97, Star Trak and more brings you the event of the summer, The Clipse performing live. Everybody should make it out for this event, especially since it's only $20 to witness the Madness. We've even worked it out that those 18 of age and older may attend (Please say you love us). I predict this to be even crazier than SneakerPimps was last year, so get there early.

P.S. All Mr. Me Toos will be checked at the door, so leave your swagger jacking ways at home. Come fresh, come confident, and most importantly COME AS YOU.

FoshoFoshow

The Project tradeshow was out here last week in New York, and we got the chance to see what's brewing in the labs of most of our favorite brands. Now we are readying ourselves for Las Vegas, and while everyone is going to be out there looking for the those brands that'll excel in their market, there is one place that you can rest assure that you will find those brands. FoshoFoshow is a collective of four of the hottest street & sportswear brands out now--Lemar & Dauley, Rocksmith, Swagger/Phenomenon and Complete Technique.

Be sure to visit their website because you will want to remember to stop by their showroom once in Vegas. To not, would be just a Sin.

Jay-Z & 44 Four's

If you don't have Jay-Z's debut album, Reasonable Doubt, go to Virgin Megastore or the mom & pop shop around your way and cop it right now before you continue on with this post. Once you've unwrapped the CD, listen to track 7, "22 two's." That track right there is classic for it's wordplay. It is now 2006 and President Carter has to chronicle how he's went from "there to here." This past weekend at his rehearsal show at the Nokia Theatre, he debuted "44 four's." He drops another classic for you ladies and gents. Check out the video below.

The Deffest in NYC

According to the folks at TrainerSpotter being a Saint in NYC is definitely a bad thing. That's bad meaning good (haha). They've designed a tee inspired by Saint of GFC New York and an 80's Wendy O tour t shirt. Wendy O was the lead singer with the Plasmatics, a NY punk band. With a limited production run of 12, Saint will be handing the tees to the Deffest Baddest disciples to walk the streets of NYC. If you receive one of the tees you know you must be doing something right. Pardon me, you must be doing several things right. Check for Saint soon, before all the tees are gone.

Mickey Factz 'Extravaganza' Video Shoot

This weekend was a hot and grueling one, but damn we had a great time. Our goal was to give the public a glimpse into this GFC New York lifestyle. With our artist, Mickey Factz being the voice of this lifestyle, we decided to put into motion the video production of his spring/summer anthem 'Extravaganza'. It was a long 3-day shoot that took place throughout NYC. Even though there were a few challenges in making this event happen as planned, it still went off to be a great success. As Mickey would say, "There aren't any brick walls in the clouds." We'd like to take the time out and thank all of our family and friends who came through and supported us in making this happen. DesignAttic, Inc, Laced Magazine, Lemar & Dauley, The Brooklyn Circus, LaVie Clothing, Mad Ciphas, Dream Cloth, The Maddesigner, A Game Entertainment, Belchez, Street Cosignor, Yoly aka The Talk of New York, Mello Yellow, Smoke Dza, Hasan Insane, K-Hustle, K-Holla and more. Yeah, we have a big family. Video will be posted in the near future, so keep checking in. Here are some pics from the shoot.

Highlights from Lemar & Dauley 2.5 Year Anniversary Event

For all those that missed the event last week, it was a joyous occasion for street culture. Lemar & Dauley celebrated their anniversary with the people in the streets, the people setting the precedence and those capitalizing off it. Everyone attendence will tell you they had a great time. Please excuse the plug, but my personal favorite highlight is when the crowd erupted once Mickey Factz' "Extravaganza" came on, true story. Like to thank everyone that was in attendence Garbege Clothing, Dr Jay's, A.L.I.E.N., La Vie Clothing, Laced Magazine, Ms. Info, Cartel NYC, Coup D'etat , Rocksmith, Mickey Factz, Curtains, Amanda Diva, Syn City, S. Lambo, Machete Magazine, Belchez Clothing, DJ Diamond & DJ Majesty on 1's and 2's and many more. Here are pictures courtesy of Dre Bless.

A.L.I.E.N. Launch Event

Wednesday, May 3rd, come out and celebrate as we and the rest of New York get onboard the spaceship and fly (sorry Mr. Kanye West, I had to jack that) to party with our fellow A.L.I.E.N.s.

Click HERE for a larger viewing of the flyer.

Put some Curls in you Hoodie

I came across these custom hoodies last year. I went to a Mos Def performance at B.B. King's and he had this same exact hoodie on. I was stunned how beautiful it looked. A few weeks later, I seen it in the glass display case at Nom De Guerre, and come to find out that's where Mos Def purchased his from. Curls takes hoodies to a peak of elegancy but still street. A piece can range from $1500 to $1800, a real good price for a hoodie that uses real fur and real gold on the zippers and hoodie string (I guess you can't really call it a string...). Check out the pics.

Federally Approved: Sidekick III

If you're like us at GFC New York, we love our sidekicks. I know the women in my life hate it, because they feel they're always competing against it for attention. I apologize for being pre-occupied with it while at dinner in a restaurant or in the middle of a conversation, but that's just my A.D.D. acting up. I don't think that will be going away anytime soon though, since the Federal Communications Commission, (FCC), has approved the new and improved Sidekick III. The device will feature Bluetooth technology, miniSD for expandable memory, and 1.3 megapixel camera. Software updates are still being kept underwraps and release date hasn't been set. The wait will be coming to an end soon though, now that pictures are out and it's been approved by the FCC. So men get those pillows ready for the couch...haha

Come out Thursday, April 27th as they celebrate @ Opus 22. Then while you're still experiencing the effects of your lingering hangover, come out to the Salon Bar on Friday, April 28th. Garbege Easter Eggs

Garbege is bringing out the scavengers of New York City. To celebrate the launch of their Spring line, "The Roaring 20s" collection, they've replaced easter eggs with mini garbege cans. They've stashed these cans throughout the entire city. If you're lucky to find one, bring it to the Spring line release party this Wednesday, April 19th and receive a very special and very free gift!

*Hint: The cans are stashed inside the dopest shops in NYC.

P.S. Stop being an Oscar the Grouch, I'm sorry I can't tell you where the event is at. The joy will be in finding out for yourself. Keep on scavengering you scallywags...haha.

Have fun. One man's garbege, is another man's treasure.

Mickey Factz - Spray Paint

With all the love and media attention that street culture has been attaining, GFC New York wanted to show our love to one of the 4 elements of Hip-Hop. Mickey Factz is our very own premium GFC artist and we'll be documenting his journey towards stardom on GFC New York. Here is one of his latest freestyles over the 'Kick, Push' instrumental. Dedicated to all the bombers, graffiti writers, taggers, b-boys & b-girls, and the founding fathers of this whole culture we present to you Spray Paint.
