Let's Play The Middle
Video: CRS - US Placers (Directed by Vashtie Kola)
NYC's Downtown Sweetheart, Vashtie Kola, has recently debuted her latest project. A video for CRS' "US Placers." The track that was on the Kanye West "Can't Tell Me Nothing" mixtape was the sleeping giant song of the summer. With ill verses by Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West & Pharrell over a Thom Yorke sample, it was only right for a video to be done for the song. And who more deserving to do it then, Vashtie Kola:
“Here’s the latest video I directed. I wasn’t commissioned to do it, so I spent my own dough to make it. I wanted to make a video for this song because I was obsessed with both the original Thom Yorke version and the Kanye West Mixtape version. It was a lot of fun to make. Most of the clothing is mine, like little Pharrell’s whole wardrobe. The props are mine, like the Brooklyn Machine Works bike and the Supreme “Last Supper” decks. That’s actually Plain Pat in the video, Kanye’s A&R.”
This is how true artist work. By taking the initiative because of love for the craft. A true kindred New Yorker at work here. Kudos. Watch the video below and check out behind the scene shots from the video shoot by clicking HERE.
Here's another video for those who've been living under a rock in New York and don't know who Vashtie Kola is...lol

Supra NS
"This January, Supra will drop a late fall line of “Non Skate” sneakers. This Skytop is the first of its kind in the “NS” line and is constructed using more high-end materials, meaning better leathers and improved construction. These crispy whites also utilize a cup sole, not the usual vulk sole that were present on Muska’s previous kicks. While the regular in-line Skytops are more skate-friendly, consider these your go-to for standing around and being cooler than everyone else. Start 08 off strong."

Grand Opening Apple Store, West 14th
Tonight at 6PM, the doors to the city's largest Apple Store will open for the first time to the public.
"With three floors of all things Apple...The top floor will feature a 46-foot Genius Bar. It will also be home to our exciting new Open Labs and Pro Labs – free, in-depth training sessions on professional creative photo, video and music applications."
I wonder what the hours of operations for the store will be...Imagine drunk clubgoers trying to operate a MacBook Pro at 3AM. It'll be comedy in the making.
The Apple Store, West 14th Street is located at 401 West 14th Street at 9th Avenue.

No One's Done It Right @ Katra
For all those that didn't make it out to Katra this past Tuesday night, you missed a good New York musical show for a good cause. No One's Done It Right set the stage for three new artists to showcase their pure talent. The place was packed, the music was pumping and the stars of the night were shining. Our own, Jade, won the hearts of those in attendance as she performed such gems as "Set Me Free," "Drown Me Out" and others. Please believe, the voice is golden.
Then came Theolonious Kapps and Livewire. Their performance was full of energy as they performed their songs accompanied by a live band. With the live band killing, the lead vocalist raising spirits, and Kapps crying on the floor, the stand out track of the night was definitely Heroes. That hook is so infectious.
Here are some links to pics of the nights festivities:
Mickey Factz on Nahright

Supra Skytop Perfs
As Complex has noted, "By now every Tom, Dick and Mickey Factz are up on the release of the 14ks." Well if you aren't, chances are they're already gone. I'm such a meanie aren't I. If Complex can be Obvious about their wit, so can I.
