Back To The Future

Surfing the net I came along this blog/website. Some of you may have learned about it and taken action already but for those that haven't, check it out. Al Cabino has started the world's first and only sneaker petition to get Nike to produce the McFly. These were the sneakers that Michael J Fox's character Marty McFly wore in the movie Back to the Future. The likes of DJ AM & Lupe Fiasco have already signed the petition. I say while we at it, why not request that Nike do the McFly collabo with NASA so that we can get the hoverboard to go along with the kicks.

P.S. Nike do not forget the Zoom Air Insoles in the McFly, Thank You.

Sign the petition here: http://www.petitiononline.com/future2/

Stay Strapped...

Found this to be funny but useful especially for the ladies out there:

Vlieger & Vandam are a design office based in the Netherlands. Their handbag series 'Guardian Angel' is as original as they come. These handbags should keep all muggers, thieves, stalkers, and ex-boyfriends at bay. So ladies next time you ever feel like beetlejuice is about to holla, just put your hand in your bag and front like you bout to bust a cap in a muthaf***a.

Cut Down This Tree...

I was in Soho the other day, walking up the Broadway with a friend of mine doing some late Christmas shopping when I spotted these. Now people, '05 was officially the year of the patent leather. Jordan Space Jam XI's made it a must have, BAPE's multi-colored treatment made them crack, but these shits right here...PLEASE send to rehab. There is no excuse for these; multi-colored patent leather Timberland field boots!?!?!? That's an oxymoron. In other words it shouldn't be done. Can we take it back to '93 when there were only 3 colors for timbs, cus now its getting out of control. Whether you are in the forest or not, everyone can hear this tree fall.

CAUTION: If you have these, YOU WILL GET CLOWNED ON.

"Oh I Think Dey Like Me" - So So Def Afroman

Dem Franchize Boyz - I Think They Like Me

Provided by VideoCodes4U.com

Jermaine Dupri has taken So So Def to the top of the charts and the industry since his humble beginnings back in 1989. Now with the emergence of the South being the hotbed for pop music; I guess it's time for all those that didn't acknowledge the South, do so now. One character that can claim to being there with JD since the beginning is the So So Def Afroman. Afroman being the company logo, has been present since Kriss Kross, Xscape, Lil Bow Wow, to now Dem Franchize Boyz. Afroman is now being immortalized as an action figure. For only $200 cash, you can purchase a Afroman figurine which will also be accompanied by a mix CD featuring So So Def artist.

Dior 'iWallet'

It's not called an iWallet, but it might as well be. Dior Homme has released 2 wallets in their Dior Digital collection that can accomodate the iPod Nano. Apple iPod is so big that it's basically it's own economical system, we'll call it an iEconomy...OK OK, I'll stop it with all the "i" prefixed words, so here's the pic of the wallet:

(CAUTION: YOU DO NOT PUT THIS WALLET IN THE BACK POCKET OF YOUR DENIM, WHILE THE iPOD IS IN IT!!!)

Emilio Pucci: From the Alps to the Moon

Yesterday, my homegirl Taty hits me up on the 'Kick' to let me know that she just copped some moon/ski boots. Shorty is ill, so I knew it would be something official. She's like "hol on, imma send u a pic." When I check my inbox, I see she copped some FRESH Emilio Pucci ski boots. Emilio Pucci always keeps it funky with their prints that are always vibrant and colorful, which command attention. Thanks for the heads up Taty aka Spanish Harlem's Rose. Here's some more stuff including the ski boot from Emilio Pucci:

Peace & Respect

Doctor Recommendation

There aren't too many things that really move me when I intitally see them. But from the first time I saw the work of Dr. Romanelli, I have been open like a 7/11 (pause). This guy has created some of the most "freshest" jackets I've seen since leathers circa 1970's. Here's a look at some of his work from his catalogue:

Versace's so "Cell" Conscious

"Man I promise, I'm so self conscious. That's why you always see me with at least one of my watches. Rollies and Pasha's (porsche's) done drove me crazy. I can't even pronounce nothing, pass that ver-say-cee (versace)"

With this must have phone here, the Louis Vuitton Don might have to make a brand switch. Nokia and Versace come together to present the Nokia 7270: The Versace Edition. The phone is adorned in a yellow and black art deco ornament design with a carrying strap that is covered in Swarovski-crystals. With the phone being a limited edition release, with only 727 available worldwide, it is retailing for 799 Euro (Euro being the currency of choice, since it's only available in Europe). Pay the cost to be the Boss, especially with all proceeds going to a good cause LifeBall.org (a charity benefit for AIDS). With this phone anybody including Kanye will have no problem with people letting him talk his shit again.

French Denim the American Way

Denim is as American as french fries. So next time you're in line at McDonald's waiting to order a Big Mac and medium french fries. Why not give the lady standing behind you the pleasure of looking at your French derriere.

Established in 2002 the small independent French denim label, Atelier LaDurance has been producing quality pants and jackets in small limited run and authentic to tradition. Products are developed in a small studio at The Provence, France in the small plains of Les Alpilles. Garments are styled in the authentic late 40's style, meaning all products are unwashed denim as was accustomed to all utility wear garments of the time.

The Atelier LaDurance washing recipe:

1. let your garment get dirty for as long as possible

2. First wash: dry clean only

3. and wear again for a long period

4. following washes: add simply 250 grams of salt and one half cup vinegar( per garment) to the washing powder as this will keep tone of the indigo for a long period. While giving deeper shades and higher lights to the natural worn denim product. Only wash once every two month or less.

On each Atelier LaDurance denim product you'll find their famous (Repair Capsule), containing: Two original 2-color brass buttons, a small piece of denim, a small piece of pocket lining plus a thimble. Being exactly everything you need to carry out your own emergency repairs.

Crazy In Love with Bape Heels???

First Lady to the Carter Administration, Beyonce Knowles has wrapped up shooting for her latest video "Check on It." It'll be the first single for her forthcoming film, The Pink Panther. Featured on the song and video is everyone's favorite Boss Hogg, Slimm Thugg. Also featured in the video is Beyonce in what appears to be Bape Sta pumps. We over here at GFC were left scratching our heads as we viewed the manifestation on her feet. We are usually critical whenever we see things or people that should be criticized, but this time around we decided that we'd leave this one in the hands of our public. Tell us what you think????

Artful Dodger Spring 06 Debut

Summer of '04, I went out to Vegas with a few friends and colleagues for Magic. While out there, I met Scott Langton. Now this guy has been in the fashion industry for some time and was soon to be releasing his own line Rogue/Scott Langton. This guys attention to detail is so phenomenal that I had to commend him on it. The embroidery work on his pieces, his choice of linings & patterns are what makes them vibrant and timeless.

It is now Winter 05 and as we come close to this years completion, we look forward to a new year of great expectations and goals to attack and meet. With that said Scott Langton is back with fury once again with his new line for Spring 06, Artful Dodger. The pieces are pure GFC CRIZZACKK. Take a look and visit Artful Dodger for more pics of the line.

Note to GFC: Give Scott a call later, I need that hoodie asap...

Perfect Strangers

We here at GFC New York love to co-sign FRESHNESS. Once we put our stamp of approval on something it is just due to receive recognition. So with that said, we give you our 1st GFC New York blog co-sign with the release of Hasan Insane's "Jay-Z & Nas: Perfect Strangers" mixtape.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

We have been onto Hasan Insane for some time now. He and his partner DJ Mills released "Jay-Z: The Pink Album," their version of The Black Album during the remix craze of 03/04. We can attest to "The Pink Album" being better than Danger Mouse's "The Grey Album," but that was then and this is now. "Perfect Strangers" is a solid 12 tracks plus bonus where he couples two of the most significant icons in Hip-Hop history over original Hasan Insane production. This release should cure the itch for those awaiting a Hova & Godson collaboration, following their historic rendezvous this past October @ The Continental Airlines Arena. We must say that this is a classic mixtape, that should be on repeat in your new video iPod.

On a scale of 1-5 we give this mixtape 5 fresh *****

Here are a few samples from the mixtape for your listening pleasure:

Jay-Z & Nas - Allure
Jay-Z & Nas ft. Talib Kweli - Karma
Jay-Z & Nas - Blueprint

For more info on the mixtape feel free to contact Hasan Insane @ www.myspace.com/hasaninsane
